Re: Colles fracture and Dupuytrens

I play a lot of tennis and had RT a few years ago. I have nodules in both palms and on a couple of fingers. I still play, but now wear a glove. I get dry skin and finger tip splits in winter but it's easily managed, or prevented with good hand cream and moisturisers.
Did the R/T slow down your DD and did you do radiation in both hands. DID you have x-ray or beams? Did you need any other treatment like N/a after the radiation. Thank again
I have had RT in both hands, at different times. I was never under the impression that playing tennis caused, or made it worse, prior to RT, quite the opposite in fact as I had an experience whereupon the resumption of playing after an injury break I discovered an unknown nodule on the racquet hand (I play one hand both sides), and formed the clear impression that the racquet pressure helped the nodule disappear!. However these days I wear a bionic glove when playing.

RT stopped the progression in both* hands, until I injured one hand with some hard tools doing plumbing work. In that hand, also disappointedly my racquet hand, I have new palmar nodules one of which sprung up within one day of the injury. This was a few months ago and they seem to have stabilised, with no cord or contracture, yet. A modest contracture would not prevent racquet handling for tennis, and NA would be my next option or a half round of RT, but I also play piano so the new nodules from injury and after RT is a small concern.

*The original appearance of DD in my racquet hand was also related to a specific hand trauma, and not tennis.
