DC + metacarpal fracture + interstitial cystitis

Hi guys, it`s been a while since I posted, but....hey! Let sleeping dogs lie

I have DC in both hands but so far no contracture, for which I thank my lucky stars.
10 weeks ago I sustained a fracture to my 5th metacarpal in my right hand (Boxers fracture) after falling. After the splint was removed I set about the rehab exercises with gusto, only to find now that this has somehow set my DC into overdrive making both palms itch like crazy.

Looking on this site for the best way to relieve the itching I came across something not seen before - a connection with interstitial cystitis. I`ve not been diagnosed with IC, but have had problems with cystitis / UTIs for about 4 years. This has steadily worsened, and I now get it about 6 times a year.

Does anyone else have this connection?

For those doing research I am also affected by the following:
I`m epileptic and take phenobarbitol and phenytoin.
I had breast cancer 13 years ago followed by 5 weeks of radiotherapy and 5 years of Tamoxifen.

Thanks for reading

Re: DC + metacarpal fracture + interstitial cystitis

Hi,

I have Interstitial Cystitis for several years now, next to other conditions. Couldn't live with it, so painfull. After several treatments that didn't work, I found my painrelief in Low Dose Naltrexon. However it didn't prevent me from getting Dupuytren, till now one hand, at age of 47. Just did read about the connection to IC in English Wikipedia.

Kind regards,
Jolande
