DD One Hand or Two

Recently diagnosed with 20 degree contracture in left pinky pip joint. Right hand and all fingers appear to be fine at this point

Plan on having NA in the next few weeks but becoming more than a bit obsessed as to whether or not I have an aggressive form of DD ( 49 year old male, Dad has DD in palm no contracture, no knuckle pads)

Know it's all but a certainty this comes back in my pinky but anyone have any stats on the likelihood it also starts in my other hand? How many of you out there have DD confined to one hand and how long have you had DD??

Anyone know what percentage of DD cases end up being aggressive???

Re: DD One Hand or Two

Both hands affected...Right hand affected with contractures..left hand has aggressively and rapidly followed suit in last 5 to 8 months..lumps inleft palm under fingers for about 15 mnths of left hand before restriction in movement obvious..same three fingers ..only slight contracture in left hand..but inability to close fingers into a fist without pain..lifting and grasping objects impossible without pain in fingers..Just had MRI..helping specialist reconfirm previous diagnosis..Still researching alternatives to surgery...Xiaplex injections looking very interesting..as well as radiotherapy..Eating pinneapples (bromelian in pinneapples said to slow collagen buildup)...massage...just started to wear finger splint at night ..My big question is why does it hurt so much ?..Is it tendons trying to stretch and cant ?Is it constant pressure or adverse contricture on tendons and associated nerves ? Ive noticed on this forum that I am not alone as far as pain in hands goes....Pain in right hand extends to pain in right wrist....which gives me hell when trying to lift or tightly grip things...
