Does Dupuytren only effect the hands???

2 years ago I had a traumatic finger injury and within weeks the nodule appeared in my hand. I also now have nodules on my 3 of my fingers and my pinky on the opposite hand is starting to web. I have been diagnosed with duputrens diathesis and I know I read somewhere that it can effect your radial nerve and you can get frozen shoulder. I have been battling serious elbow pain and have tried everything. They cannot seem to find any diagnosis. Does anyone know if the radial nerve involvement cause elbow pain??

My understanding is that DC is confined to the hands (and Ledderhose to the feet) although there appear to be linkages to other physical maladies, including frozen shoulders and aortic aneurisms, for example. That doesn't mean that DC travels to the shoulder or aorta, but that people with a positive diagnosis for DC have been known to also have frozen shoulders.

EasyRino - you say: "there appear to be linkages to ... aortic aneurisms ..". To me this is a new clinical linkage that we have not seen previously in the research literature to date. Can you please refer me to the reference source for this statement. What you claim could have a number of associatedand wider ramifications. Thank you.

In my internet research on genetic aspects of DC, I ran across a one-sentence anecdote stating that. I will try to refine the link, but don't recall where I ran across it. If I remember correctly, the source stated that DC and aortic aneurisms were on the same gene. Oddly enough, my father has both.

Might it have been the following quote (which i believe is speaking about the physician rather than the disease)?

"Since the observations of Dupuytren, who reported three cases of aortic aneurism relieved by lead acetate (together with small bleedings and rest), this remedy has been tried by many physicians."

That is very curious, but is not familiar to me. In other words, I saw the link in different literature, I seem to recall.

It was a long shot. I tried to Google Dupuytren and aortic aneurism to try to help find the article, but what I mentioned was all I found.
