Dupuytren's doctor in Paris ?

Hi!
I'm from Argentina.
I was diagnosed with dupuytren last year and i'm still on stage one.
I shall be going to Paris next month for other reasons, and wonder if i could make and appointment with a phisician there.. (since no treatment is applied in Argentina, other than surgery).
Can anyone recommend me a doctor there please?
Thanks a lot!!

Hola Christina. I suppose you are looking for an NA practitioner? I live in Paris and had my first NA performed with perfect results last September by Dr. Pizzuti at Lariboisière Hospital.

My report is at http://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_E...ris-0_1890.html.

The list of French NA practitioners is at http://f.badois-dupuytren.pagespro-orang...tml/gblist.html.

I'll be happy to help you with information.

Thanks Stefan for your quick answer, i've just read your report, and took all the info in order to get an appointment.
My fingers are still straight, I can put my hand flat on a table, but some cords are growing towards my 2nd, 3rd and 5th fngers.

You are welcome Cristina. If your fingers are still straight the French NA doctors probably won't be able to do anything for you, and radiotherapy for DD is not yet recognized by the social security and therefore not yet practiced by the doctors here. From what I have learned here over the past year, you may, like myself now, be more of a candidate for RT e.g. in Hamburg or for NA on a future visit to Paris when you start having a contracture.

Thanks again for your advise Stefan!
This forum is my source of information.. I learn a lot here and I'd like to thank all the people who share their experiences!!
Just a few people suffer from this disease in Argentina, (..good for them!)...and physicians, don't seem interested in enquiring about other therapies....

Re: Dupuytren's doctor in Paris ?

Hi Cristina,
I have had surgery, radiotherapy and NA or PNF depending in which country you are in .Stefan is correct the practitioner uses a needle to cut through the cord then uses a force to straighten the finger which intern snaps the cord allowing the finger to straighten. Where there is no contraction there is no point to having the procedure and in fact the practitioner would not do it. So wait and see. I had NA when the contraction was up to 45 degree with success . Severing the Cords within the palm is easy but within the pip joint especially, it becomes difficult. The point of treatment with radiotherapy is only a benefit in the early stages in the treatment of nodules before cords form . It sounds as though you are in the wait and see period. You did not mention your age, it can be a factor. Regards.

Re: Dupuytren's doctor in Paris ?

Hi again Cristina
for your information the disease generally affects women 10 years later on average than men. Men on average develop the disease in the 50th Year. Also you might not be aware 80 % of patients that develop Dupuytrens never have any treatment.
Have a good time. Be thankfull you have not a life threatening problem.
