experiences of dealing with advanced stage of DD in Ireland

I have advanced DD in both hands. I can now only type with with my left and right ring fingers.
Left hand is worst. Is it too late for Xiaflex? Is there an experienced Dupuytrens specialist in Ireland?

Hi amany

Only a surgeon will be able to advise your suitability for Xiaflex, NA or the type of surgery. What degree of contracture do you have on what fingers, and is the cord from the palm or in the fingers?

I think user 'Lanod' may be from Ireland, he occasionally pops in here and may know some clinics. On a previous occasion, August 2013 he posted the following as doing Xiaflex:

Mr. Colin Riordan at thre Blackrock Clinic, Dublin: www.handclinic.ie
Mr. Kieran O'Shea, St. James Hospital, Dublin.

Best wishes
SB

Hi SB,
thanks for the reply.
I have DC in my left hand on pinky 120degs, ring and index 45degs at the knuckle and middle finger 80deg. My left ring finger has also began to turn in towards and is crossing my left middle. Noddules have formed at base of three fingers.
Right hand not so bad, DC on index finger at 90degs with nodules and deep ravines on palm.

I had surgery in '08 on left pinky and into palm, severe pain long afterwards. Other fingers ok at that time but things seem to have rappidly in the past 18 months.

I hope to arrange an appointment with Dr Riordan immediately.

Sorry - I have no experience of surgeons here is Ireland. I went for radiotherapy treatment at the Galway Clinic as I was at the very early stages of DC in both hands. To date - a couple of years on - this has been successful for me.

For you - you will need treatment of surgery or needle (NA). If I were you I would consider going to Paris for NA release. If you search for the user dannyboy on this site you will see that he is Irish also and he has been to Paris for treatment.

Also the user Seph on the site has very, very good posts on treatment is Paris.
