Get financial Help for Xiaflex in USA

The other night, right after I got home from another NA, somehow I found this site:http://www.healthwellfoundation.org/ . Go to General Info, then Diseases and Medications. Dupuytren's is on the list. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and arrow down to Dupuytren's, the medication they'll help with is Xiaflex.

I didn't read all the criteria to get the help but I think it's people uninsured or underinsured. I certainly fall under that last category which is why I'm kicking myself I didn't see this before I got the NA.

My sense is that the diseases they cover sometimes change, so it might not always be there.

Anyway, I just thought I'd put this up here in case it can help anybody.

I just received a grant from HealthWell to cover the ~$3,000 cost of Xiaflex and had my left hand done on 7/24, manip on 7/25. I am very happy with the results so far. Still a little sore but I pretty much have full use of my hand and can extend my fingers over 10* beyond straight! At some point my right hand will probably need fixing, perhaps there will be something even better by then.... My Medicare supplement insurance would have left me with a $1,300 copay. I had put off surgery for over 7 years, not wishing to go through that, have 4 months of rehab and still run the risk of DC returning, like one of my friends went through.

That's great!

I just can't believe that I'd never heard of them until literally the night I got home from my 3rd NA on two fingers.

I have a $6,000 deductible (nothing paid until I reach it) and I'm out of work, so I REALLY wish I'd seen this earlier!

Glad it worked out for you!
