International Dupuytren's Symposium
Hi All,
Wolfgang, Anna and I recently attended the International Dupuytren's Symposium and there was loads of great information for Dupuytren's patients.
Along the way I wrote up notes on the talks being giving and uploaded them to my blog.
If you are interested they can be found here http://ledderhose.blogspot.co.uk/p/symposium.html
Any questions then let me know, I am hoping to add more detailed write ups over time and hopefully links to my favourite talks.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: International Dupuytren's Symposium
I just attended a meeting of European Hand Surgeons in Italy with Wolfgang, and sat in on the instructional sessions about Dupuytren's.
Overall athough there were few papers on cell biology I came away with the feeling that there is active research across several levels, and even hand surgeons are coming around to listening to patients preference for non-invasive techniques, and hearing about alternative therapies. Finally experience is all important, choose your physician or surgeon well.
They produced a book, in English, only just published so not widely available yet and €65, which I don't expect a patient to buy, but should complement the IDS 2015 meeting in Groningen which will also be published as a book, and your hand surgeon ought to know about it and perhaps have it on his/her shelf. ISBN 9788871103310

Re: International Dupuytren's Symposium
Checked Amazon for the 2015 book it's not available in the U.S. Yet. Will keep checking. However there are many other books as recient as 2013 DD SYMPOSIUM held in Miami Floeida. U.S. As others on cell biology & research on DD. The books for doctors reference are expensive around $200 (for doctors use.) Mabe there is one available to rent at the major University in my area library. Since searching thru all the books on Amazon, I discovered that there is a lot more information about DD than currently on the Internet . THANKX for the heads up . I would have never thought about books on this disease without your helpful suggestions.
My DD is slowly creeping back. I have read the reviews on 5 books on Amazon and it's given me a better understanding of this disease on many new and different levels. Now to order one on Kindle.
Kind Regards Cherise

Re: International Dupuytren's Symposium
Might be worth checking what's available and for free on Google books first. Most of the book from the Miami symposium is accessible. The format online is hardly user friendly though IMHO.
