KNUCKLE NODULE

Could anyone tell me if they have a pink nodule on the middle knuckle of any finger? I have Dupuytrens in both palms but now there is a pinkish red nodule on my middle finger middle knuckle on the PALM side, not like the usual knuckle pads on the other side that people get. Any help is appreciated.

Re: KNUCKLE NODULE

I had nodules on the palm side of my knuckles before I was ever diagnosed with dupuytren's. I had two nodules removed surgically and they both came back as fibramotisis. I have been told it was part of the dupuytren's.

Re: KNUCKLE NODULE

Hi Paula Australia Calling,
Sounds like you have a nodule, that is growing on the joint or adjacent to it .Does the nodule feel hot, hard, soft and what about pain etc? It is quiet different to' Garrods' or 'Knuckle Pads.' Have you looked at( Related diseases ) (click -left of screen) there is a photo showing knuckle pads. Also have you looked at 'Dupeytren's disease '(Stages and Therapies)- Stage 1- shows a photo of a large nodule growing adjacent to the joint. If you have no contraction and dependant on your age you might consider radiotherapy. Regards.

Re: KNUCKLE NODULE

Thanks for the replies; I appreciate it. The knuckle has a slightly red hardish bump on it. It is actually on the knuckle (middle) and it doesnt hurt at all. It doesnt look like the knuckle pads on the websites that are on the other side of the hand. Then again, my condition doesnt seem to fit (if ther is such a thing) in that my nodules are exactly identical on each palm (two on each palm between the creases) and it has caused me such pain that I cant sleep at night. The pain has subsided recently so I hope that means it has stopped progressing at least for now. I would like to have radiotherapy but there is noone in Dallas that I know who does it and Im just not up to traveling right now. I did find a doc at UT Southwestern who said he would do NA on it later Anyway thanks so much for your replies.

Re: KNUCKLE NODULE

Hi Paula - I had several nodules on the palm side of several fingers at least a year or so before I was diagnosed. My cases seems to be different, too. I had the nodules on the palm side of my hands long before the cords started developing. I now have knuckle pads on several fingers, as well. My middle and ring finger seem to be affected the most on my left hand, and I have just noticed nodules/cords in my right palm going to the pinkie and ring fingers on that hand. I am going to Oklahoma City in December for radiation with hopes that it will slow the progression down. I am having quite a bity of pain in the middle knuckle area of the middle finger on my right hand - not sure what is causing that (Dupuytren's or something else). I have a hard time gripping things with either hand, especially the right. I am anxious to see if radiation helps! Good luck to you!
