NA Experience Today

I just returned from my having NA on my pinky pip joint this afternoon- (35 degrees contracted) with Dr Helgemo. My pinky is not completely straight but can now lay my hand flat on a table which is significant improvement.

All in all it was a little more painful than I expected ----- they got a little too close to a nerve and that got my attention and he injected a shot of cortisone into my knuckle during the procedure as the pressure bending the finger back was starting to bother me. All in all think I had four shots plus two inserts of the needle to cut the cord.

Even with the discomfort really glad I had it done and really glad it's over! I'm sure I'll be going through this again but hope it's bought me several years.........

If you're considering having it done and have any questions I'm happy to relay my experience in more detail....

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their wealth of information and support.......

Re: NA Experience Today

Broderbund, Thank you for sharing. I would be grateful if ypu followed up, telling us about your experience with the doctor and developments over the next week, and long term, too.

I had the impression that the pinky pip, while common, is difficult because of the location of a nerve, and a tendency to recur. It would be great to hear more about your experience.
