Normal behavior for Dupuytrens?

My hands are very tight in the morning. I can't close my right hand all the way until I've had some time to stretch it out and wiggle my fingers for awhile. My question is about my middle finger. It appears to be slightly curved when I first wake up, but straightens out as my hands become more limber. This is also a trigger finger. Wondering if the curving is caused by Dups, trigger finger are maybe some arthritis?

Re: Normal behavior for Dupuytrens?

I can't answer your question beyond saying I have had Dupuytren's for 20 years and have all sorts of complications from severe cramping in both hands and my fingers do end up in various positions, curled and otherwise, at various times. Your doctor and a physical therapist should be able to recommend physical therapy or other treatments. I play cards, dribble a basketball, squeeze clay in various positions and stretch my fingers with a rubber band or bands on them. Good luck.

I think you should get a referral to a Hand Surgeon and have your condition diagnosed. Could be dups and if so wanted treated in early stages.

Re: Normal behavior for Dupuytrens?

Thank you both for your responses. I actually have an appointment with Prof S next week. This finger curving thing has only developed in the last few weeks. Wasn't in my initial consult email to Prof S. I guess I was just curious to know if anyone else had this. I'll report what he has to say about it.
