Painful joint swelling

Had Xiaflex injection almost a month ago, was a very unpleasant experience. I was and am still unable to bend my little finger at all. About one week after the procedure I went back to the Dr. and he took X-Rays, he saw no problems at all and FORCED the finger to bend at the middle joint, was so, so painful I cried and begged him to stop, it did however bend with extreme pain and hasn't been bent since. 4 weeks later, the area and joint between my hand and the middle joint is still swollen, pinkish/purplish and extremely sore, the finger will not bend at all and the joint at the very tip of my finger is now bent downwards.

Desperately seeking advice and/or recommendations from anyone with similar experience.

Thank You

Re: Painful joint swelling

I have often wondered what happens to the surrounding tendons and ligaments of the hand when they are violently manipulated in a Xiaflex procedure?

Re: Painful joint swelling

That being said, now I'm pretty convinced my hand has suffered some tendon/ligament damage

Re: Painful joint swelling

When I had Xiaflex the doctor very gently bent my finger back and forth and then pressed on my palm. It was done with some pressure, but certainly nothing forceful.

It does sound like something may have been damaged in your finger. That definitely doesn't sound normal.
