Painful nodules/cords

Does anyone have any experience with lotions, pills, therapy, or whatever to help with painful nodules/cords.

thanks. I read keep reading that they are not supposed to hurt, but mine do a lot, all the time.

If they are not too painful you might try the Norco Mini Vibrator. I just bought one from my hand therapist and after my recent NA, it feels very nice. It's only $19.95, runs on an "included" C battery. Put a sufficient amount of lotion on your hand and then try it out-- be gentle at first. You can also experiment with using heat (they sell lots of devices to heat in microwave) on your hands-- either with or without the massager. Or you can just do 2-3 minutes soaks in hot water.

You can also use cold packs to relieve your hands. Try a filling a mini-dixie cup with water, freeze it and then peel off the top quarter and rub it over your hands.

Try hot and cold contrast baths.

Use a hand exerciser.
Try a certified hand therapist to teach you methods to move and stretch your hand. I think that's the very best way to control pain.

Best,
diane

Re: Painful nodules/cords

Cortisone shots helped me immensely but just for a few months. I'm looking into getting more. I find when the pain is gone, the contractures and low range of movement don't bother me nearly when the discomfort is gone.
