Post Procedure

Greetings - I had the Xiaflex injection to my little finger a week ago Thursday 09/12/13. During the surgeons manipulation of my finger I endured a nasty skin tear at the middle joint on the underside(presumably since the finger was constricted for such a long time). The finger is still swollen and bruised but fully extended. I've seen my pcp 3 times since then to have the bandages changed (since I was unable to tolerate the pain, required a shot of Demerol). Returning to see the surgeon this Thursday but am unable to bend my finger at the middle joint at all!!! Any similar experiences out there? Thank you --- getting a bit depressed and disappointed....

Not at all, even a weeny bit? You do need to get your surgeon to verify the tendon has not been torn. Otherwise hopefully once the swelling and brushing has gone down, a few weeks of physical therapy should get it going.

Re: Post Procedure

I had a little finger NA procedure (95 degree contraction) that resulted in a skin tear, bruising, and swelling. No worries though. Everything resolved 100% and the NA was supremely successful. Extremely grateful. Best of luck!

Re: Post Procedure

Glad to hear it! feel a bit more encouraged now, I suppose 7 days is not enough healing time!!

Thank You!
