R/T For The Whole Hand

Has anybody gotten their whole hand from the top of the fingers to the wrist radiated? Is this helpful to do if I suspect the disease might be moving into my fingers, base of my thumbs, and bottom of my palm?

Please help, thanks

Re: R/T For The Whole Hand

ProfS avoids whenever possible radiating the tips, DIP joints, also will cut off at PIP if there are no symptoms. I believe this is because there is greater risk of 'damage' of healthy tissue at the tips, but I don't really know for sure. For most cases he uses a mask that includes the palm, excludes the thumb web, and excludes past the PIP. But it does depend on a physical examination to determine extent of active disease.
