R/T treatment in Las Vegas
Hello Everyone,
I am a new Dupuytrens patient and new to this forum but I wanted to share my experience so far.
After almost a year of wondering about the "bumps" on my left palm, they began to hurt. I decided that it was time to see a doctor. I made an appointment with an Orthopedic doctor that diagnosed me with Dupuytrens. I was told to "Google" it and was given an appointment in six months at which time we would discuss surgery options.
After doing some research I discovered this wonderful site. Long story short, I decided that R/T was my best option at this point (no contracture, early stage). After several days of phone calls to various cancer treatment centers in the Las Vegas area I was ready to give up and make arrangements to fly to Germany for my R/T. I finally received a return call from the office of Dr. Michael Sinopoli with the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Not only was Dr. Sinopoli knowable about DD, he has a very successful record of treating thus condition with R/T.
I am scheduled for a MRI in a few days and will begin my radiation therapy a week later. I'm very optimistic about the outcome and, so far, have been extremely impressed with Dr. Sinopoli and the staff at his office.
I will keep you updated on my experience and how things turn out.
I just want to to let anyone that is thinking a trip to Hamburg is the only option, there appears to be someone in Las Vegas that might be a great alternative.
