Re: RT or "Wait and see"?

Prof Seegenschmiedt's view is very much treat early and that is what the published data suggests.

Looking at your hands there are white areas which from this photo could be dupuytrens.

In your write-up you don't mention the angle of contracture of one of your fingers, which you said needed pushing to go straight.

For those who have been to Hamburg see this strange write-up of Radiation treatment "UK Style":

Re: RT or "Wait and see"?

Hi there.

Thanks for your responses.

I don't currently have a contracture. My pinky and ring fingers just feel tighter than before I ever noticed the initial lump. I understand that Prof. S says to treat early, but I'm also aware that it needs to be in an active state for DD to be effective.

Bizarrely, just last night I woke with odd pins and needles in my two fingers, similar to when I first noticed the nodule, but this could just be because I had been lying on my arm.

My concern is that I get RT too soon, (which I understand is a one-time treatment, and then other nodules appear that can't be treated with RT over the coming months/years.

I think that once I am sure that the DD is in an active state I will get RT, and I'm still unsure about whether to travel to Germany or stay in the UK. There's not much difference cost-wise once flights etc are accounted for.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the line running to my thumb? I can't feel any nodules of cords, but maybe they aren't always that obvious?

Thanks again.

J.

I have a similar "trench" but lower down. In hind sight, it's been there before cords showed up but was never problematic. I see similarities in the pictures listed on this link. My hands do not have cords in the same locations as the pictures...
