RT to digital nodules?

Hi,

I have been trying to find posts that relate to anyone that has had RT to nodules in their fingers? On the palmar side. I have had RT to right hand with success for about 3 years. Now going to have RT to left hand due to recent, and more rapid progression. During this time of progression I have dealt with similar painful symptoms that I experienced before RT to right hand. Only worse. Oddly, mostly the nerve type pain is in my right hand, the one already treated. And it feels as though I may be forming a nodule on the palmar side of my middle finger.

RT took away all the really painful symptoms in both my hands and feet last time. I am hoping for the same results in both hands and feet by now treating my left hand. Slowed progression, obviously did not stop it.

I am, however, wondering if I do not have the same good results if RT can be done to my finger in right hand? I have NEVER had this kind of pain in my finger before.

I will add my worst cord is also in that middle right finger. My hands are happier if I do not stretch cords or splint. I have only slight contraction.

Thanks for any input,

Nan

Re: RT to digital nodules?

Dear Nan,

Radiotherapy can certainly be effective for painful nodules in your fingers. Also, even if there is overlap with the previous radiotherapy field, you could still consider further radiotherapy. I have written a blog post at http://www.thedupuytrenspractice.com/rep...erhose-disease/

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Richard Shaffer
