Tomorrow, Wednesday, I'm having surgery on my right hand. It is a subtotal palmar fasciectomy and will involve the pinky and middle finger. So I'll have the lovely zigzag incisions from the lower palm up to almost the DIP of the pinky and middle fingers. I've spent a couple of days cleaning house, stocking up on groceries and getting all the laundry done. Now I'm ready to sit for a few days and recover. lol

I'm not looking forward to the boxing glove bandage, but my understanding is that it will only be on until the middle of next week. Then I'll go to the hand therapist who will remove the bandage and immediately start PT. The stitches will come out the following week. Sounds fun.

Best of everything for you tomorrow! I too had surgery - in April - and am now in the first round of RT at Sylvester Cancer Center in Miami. Be kind to yourself after surgery. It was a slow recovery for me but then the doctor failed to tell me about physical therapy and I think it may have been too long for me. Stretch those fingers! :)

The bandage is not as bulky as they kept saying it would be. Surgery went well. I'm rather nauseated and sleepy now. But I'm very glad to be home in my comfy bed. My hand is full of lidocaine. Literally. The pump it through the veins in an IV. Its beginning to wake up an have some feeling. Threw up several times when I got home but am doing better now. Arm is propped up high and I'm gonna play online for a while.

I vomited a couple of times and then felt much better. Sleep was hard because I had to keep my hand elevated. Right now it is still numb. It's very tingly so it's probably going to wear off soon. I really can't do anything with my left hand. Of course it has DC too so that doesn't help. I did manage to fix some cereal this morning.
