Re: XIAFLEX SOON

My Medicare Advantage insurance would only cover about 1/3 of the cost of Xiaflex. I applied for a grant from Healthwell Foundation and they covered all but about $90 of the entire procedure. I had mine done in July of this year and am extremely pleased with the results. Make sure your doc has a good success rate with Xiaflex, not all docs have the same skill level and success with it. Mine was performed by a plastic surgeon who specializes in hands and is skilled in all DC surgeries as well as NA and injection. Don't know anything about silver nitrate, what is that supposed to do??

Re: XIAFLEX SOON

Silver nitrate is used by some surgeons, physicians, nurses for care of open wounds that are not healing. After the mechanical straightening procedure you may have skin splits where shortened skin from the contracture has been pulled open. By all means ask in advance how skin splits will be managed, but the use of silver nitrate is not universal

Re: XIAFLEX SOON

I had one split about 3/16" long, I just used some anti bacterial cream and it healed but left a little scar.
