alzheimer~sq~s and dupuytren~sq~s--any link?
I was just diagnosed with DC. I am 58 and, so far, my only symptom is a small lump in my left palm, below my ring finger. My mother had Alzheimer's disease and, although no one gave it a name, her fingers were curved in and she wore splints for the last few years of her life. Since she had the hereditary form of Alzeimer's (early onset and her only sibling had it, too) I am concerned if there is a link between Alzheimer's and DC.

no connection
I've read just about everything I can find on the web about DC, and as far as I know there is absolutely no evidence of a link with Alzheimer's.

DC & Alzheimer
I have just read the notices posted and realised that both my mother and her sister had DC and alzheimer. I was not aware there could be a connection. I have DC in both hands and it started when I was 8 years of age.

Connections
Please people, don't jump to conclusions ! If you go through the forum, you would think everything is connected to DP. Only thing I didn't see was something like a broken leg :D

Dupuy?
This is scary. I just noticed a small hard lump,on my left palm. It is very tiny but painful when I put pressure on it. I had no idea what it might be until I went web searching and came upon this group. What really caught my eye was the posted message linking it with Alzheimer's. My mother just died in October after a prolonged fight with Alzheimer's. I do not know if she had this other syndrome. Her hands were very thin and bony for the last few years. What is very strange to me, too, is the fact that my maiden name is "Dupuy"! Any comments or advice??
