Guillian-Barre Syndrome, and now DC..

I am a 61 yr female, who is in recovery from Guillian-Barre Syndrome (GBS). I was initially diagnosed (Dec. 2001)as having Fybromyalgia with severe shoulder and back pains, but a Lumbar Puncture proved it was GBS. I was paralysed from neck to toe, and in ICU but not trached'. GBS attacks the auto immune system rendering paralysis, I have made a pretty good recovery as I'm now mobile, drive and can type but have some residual numbness in finger tips and toes and a bit of slowness in general. I had to go to my GP this week for another sick note for employers, and whilst I was there I had some severe ongoing itching in my left hand, which he picked up on. When he examined my palm, he said he could feel pits and a nodule near my W.ring finger, and told me I had DC which I had never heard of before, and has ordered some blood tests. I don't know about genetic, no-one is around from yester-year and my 5 brothers do not have any signs. Connection or what with immune-system?? Be glad to hear your comments via the board.

Guillian - Barre Syndrome

I suffered from GBS when I was just 17 years old. I am now 45 years old,
I would like to chat with someone who suffered for many years as I did

GBS

Hello,
My mother is 70 and she has been in the hospital for 6 weeks without a detailed diagnostic. Could you give me more informacion about the symptoms?
I'm glad to here you got better.
