Answer
Itching

Jean,

I experience itching also. It seems to happen when my DC is progressing. I asked the doctors about it and they said it wasn't a symptom. They had no suggestions.

Answer
Cortisone

You should ask for a cortisone infiltration. It will reduce your itching.

Answer
Itching

Your itching is probably caused by collagen trying to do its healing job. Instead it is exacerbating the D/C.

Answer
itch pain and other topics

I'm a physician with DC. I've consulted ,any surgeons and rheumatologists. Some have the audacity to tell me I'm wrong when I say it hurts, and itches and involves forearms and shoulders and hips, the smarter ones learn.
I had collegenase 3 years ago, it's magic. Keep nodules under control with triamcinolone, a must to stop progress. And I see so much research is being done on tissue factors that may be involved, with many possibilities of control, some of which I may try. Such as enbrel.
It surprises me nobody brought such stuff up on all these messages. There must be someone who tried such stuff. Also I take tetracyclines that soften collegen as a side effect.

Dr. Ivan,

Thanks for the post. *Please* tell us more about *triamcinolone*. Prescription Only? Dosage? How administrated.

(What!!! You say some docs have the *audacity* to tell some of us we don't know what we are talking about? Let it never be! :)

Triamcinolone Acetonide Injections

This subject was introduced about mid February this year by Michael. This under the subject title 'Triamcinolone' and contains quite good information on this subject. I have been keen to seek further info. Does anyone know the cost of this product and frequency of shots recommended?

Answer
triamcinolone acetide (Kenalog)

Actually, a better thread for learning about triamcinoline acetide (brand name Kenalog) injections is the one entitled 'Forestalling Contracture'. It includes valuable comments by Dr. Keith Denkler. - MML
