Re: Alternative medicines
Hi, The term "alternative medicine" is generally used to describe practices used independently or in place of conventional medicine. It is frequently grouped with complementary medicine, which generally refers to the same interventions when used in conjunction with mainstream techniques, under the umbrella term complementary and alternative medicine, or CAM. Here at NaturalTherapyForAll, we help you to find the hypnotherapist, who has a proven track record in this field and other therapist like acupuncturist, complementary therapies, psychotherapist etc.

Re: Alternative medicines
Hi- just read the post on alternative medicine-a method i tried for 2 years without success-over 60 acupunture treatments on my left hand at £30+ per treatment-backed up by dietary measures and supplements. In the end,i contacted Heinrich Seegenschmiedt then in Essen and underwent radiotherapy on my left hand. That worked and the contracture on my left hand has stabalised-allowing me to continue my profession as a professional musician. One alternative therapy that did work and after 3 treatments was the Niel Asher therapy for a frozen shoulder administered by a local Osteopath-painful but effective with no reccurence after 2 years.I would like to know if anyone does better than me trying an alternative approach to dups>?So far.it seems to me it`s only N/A and Radiotherapy that do the job with the minimum of invasive side effects to the hand.. Re: Alternative medicines
It may seem safer to take all these drugs-supplements instead of surgery or x-ray treatment but there is the likely chance that the disease will progress further at which point XRT will be a lot less effective. It seems to be typically American to put more faith in the clerk at the health foods store than a doctor and it satisfies our desire to solve medical problems with a pill, any pill, and the more pills the better. And whether someone is taking the cheaper red rice yeast in a capsule or Lovastatin the impact on your body, good and bad, is likely to be the same.
The diet supplements companies in the USA take advantage of our very lax laws regarding these unregulated products. No way to know about potency or to know about contaminants in what is being sold.

Re: Alternative medicines
There are no silly questions, just stupid answers. Staging is described on http://www.dupuytren-online.info/dupuytr..._therapies.html.

May seem like a silly question - but, how can one tell what stage our common disease is in? I would be interested in knowing. Anyone?

I think we ought to delete the post by jamesrobartson. Sounds like an ad to me. What do you think?

No,no, when You wake up, you have forgotten the disease fo 6 - 8 hours, i.e. for the whole life span that's a "Quality of Live" improvement of about 25%!
