I have had DD for 35 years. About four years ago I had collagenase injection in 3 of my 4 afffected fingers. They improved slightly, but most importantly, they sre not getting worse. The finger that was not treated is now at a 95 degree angle. BTW, the doctor said she could not help me with that finger. The cord was too close to the finger, and the finger was already too far gone.

All things considered, I am satisfied. I can still force my hand into winter gloves, although, I wear mittens because they are easier and warmer. I am a 70 year old man.

I had Xiaflex treatment on my left hand about 5 weeks ago and am quite pleased with the results. I, too, am 70 YO guy and maybe by the time the DC returns or my right hand progresses to contracture I won't have any use for this earthly body anymore-mine took about 20+ years to get to the point where I needed to do something about it. I know there is no cure for this condition but collaganase injection seems to be a good way to interrupt the progression of DC at this time. Maybe in the future they will find better remedies but for now I'm glad for the injection.
