Severe back pain

Hi all,
I’m new to this forum. Nowadays, I’m experiencing severe shoulder pain and back pain. Last week I twisted my back and from that moment I have severe back pain.I had tried some medications in order to get rid of the pain and got relief for some time but the pain had retained after 2 or 3 hours. So I need to intake 3-4 painkillers a day for doing basic day to day activities like sitting, bending, etc. The pain became unbearable during night time, I am not able to find a suitable sleeping position and can’t even sleep properly. I’m totally worried and depressed. I have tried different positions but the pain is horrific along my backside. Every day I used to seek the help of my daughter for getting out of bed. Does anyone have a similar experience? What are the techniques that you use to get a proper sleep without the disturbance of back pain? I had read that back support braces and some special pillows are helpful for this pain. Is it true? My doctor in AESM Toronto had also recommended me to use a power belt back support brace along with the regular medication for a fast relief. Do they really work? Has anyone tried such braces? It would be great if you share it. Thank you in advance.

Re: Severe back pain

Hi renagter32, I am very sorry to hear about your back pain! Having suffered myself from it several times, I can relate to it but consulting via the internet is probably too dangerous. You should see a doctor asap. And BTW this might be the wrong forum anyway because it is focussing on a specific hand disease called Dupuytren disease.

Re: Severe back pain

Hey renagter32, just don't take this much of pain killers, because its not good for health. And yes, there are some pillows and different chairs for the one who suffer from these pains. And yes I too agree that this forum is not related to pain issue but as you had started you need to take care of yourself. I hadn't experienced the pain yet, but my friend is same like you. She also bears this much of pain and may be more than you. She gone through doctor also, some day medicines, but the pain was little bit only reduce. Now she is having the massage therapy along with the acupuncture therapy daily for 1 hour from this site and now she can sit in the office with much less pain.

Re: Severe back pain

Hi Lena, I am very sorry but this is probably the wrong forum because it is dedicated to Dupuytren and Ledderhose disease only. Besides that, the best advice is seeing a doctor as soon as possible. Diagnosis and treatment recommendations via the Internet are dangerous and may do harm rather than help.

Wishing you all the best and quick recovery in the new year!

Power belt will be helpful because it has been suggested to me also by a Spine Surgeon in Las Vegas. That time i have been suffering from severe back and neck pain. after using the belt now it's fine.
