Anyone have feedback on Dr. Terrence Barry in Miami?

I'm down in the Florida Keys, south of Miami, and I need a NA. Anyone have any positive/negative feedback on Dr. Barry? It's a 2.5 hour drive to Miami and a 4 hour drive to Dr. Eaton in Jupiter, FL.

I also could have it done locally this summer in Madison, WI at the University of Wisconsin Hand Clinic. According to the nurse, Dr. Stephen Zachary and Dr. Armon Salyapongse do a couple NAs every week. The prices at UW-Health are probably higher though. The estimate was $218 for the consult and $1153 for the procedure, plus then they want me to get a splint.

I'm a new member. 58 year old male with a $10,000 deductible on my health insurance (grrr...) I've got a 90 degree contracture on my right pinkie finger. I'm getting tired of botched handshakes (great first impression!) and problems putting gloves on, etc.

Any feedback on any of this??? Thanks, looks like a great forum!!!

Welcome to the Forum. I don't know anything about Dr. Barry, so I can't say something negative OR positive about him. However, I can highly recommend Dr. Eaton, and driving the extra couple of hours would be worthed to see him. Dr. Eaton studied with the French doctors who developed NA, and he introduced the procedure in this country. He has treated thousands of patients.

In 2005, Dr. Barry was trained in Paris, France, by Drs. Lermusiaux and Badois, the originators and developers of the non-surgical needle aponeurotomy technique. He specializes in NA and has done over 1900 procedures.

My wife and I aren't fans of long drives in S. Florida. It's a 5 hour versus 8 hours difference (round trip)...
