Radiation Therapy and Medicare

I'm looking for those of you who have had radiation therapy in the US paid for by Medicare. I know Flojo said hers was. I was assured by my doc that it was covered but Medicare has turned all the bills down. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps my doc didn't use the proper codes?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Moon

Re: Radiation Therapy and Medicare

When I had my RT in November, they said at Scripps that it was covered by Medicare...haven't seen any bills yet, but I'll post when I see the Medicare statements.

Re: Radiation Therapy and Medicare

I think your doc must have used the wrong codes. Mine was definitely covered. My supplemental insurance paid, too, and they don't pay if Medicare doesn't cover the procedure. Doubt I can find the Explanation of Benefits now. You can call Medicare, too.

Good luck.
