3 years post RT update

I had radiation treatment 3 years ago in Germany by Dr. S. Just a quick note to report that I'm very happy with the results. The hands which were both treated have been in remission ever since. Don't know how long this will last. Although I have pretty extensive disease (5 nodules on left and 2 on right), I still have no contracture. Dr. S also recommended radiation for both feet, but I declined that treatment. Around the time of the treatment, my left foot had a new nodule. It had since grown and became somewhat more painful, but seems to have settled down and is less painful now. Each foot had a painful nodule in the middle of the arch about 10 years ago. Those seem to have essentially no pain any more. They even seem to have shrunk quite a bit.

I had my treatment in 2009 at Poole NHS hospital. Right hand only because that's my hand that works properly (my left was paralysed through RTA and doesn't work too well) and I couldn't wait to see how bad it might get. I still have a chord to my little finger but it's not pulling the finger down. The nodules I had have either gone or shrunk to become inactive. Therefore after 10 years I'd class that as a result and long may it continue.

Funny that you mention foot nodules. I felt some on a chord under my right foot and thought that I was now going to have foot problems as well but they seem to fortunatelyhave gone on their own.

Cambidgeshire, UK.

Re: 3 years post RT update

I had RT on both hands about 7 years ago. At the time of RT, I had active disease in both hands with cords and nodules, pain upon stretching and numbness in the end of one finger. I had no contraction. Within a few weeks after RT, my hands felt looser, easier to stretch with no pain. The cords and nodules remain as they do to this day. About 12 months ago I felt more active disease in both hands but that has regressed. I still have no contractions. For me this has been very successful.

I had treatment in Brisbane, Australia.

About 2 years ago, I have developed disease in one foot. I will live with that for the moment as it progressed very slowly and has no major impact.
