alternative therapy

I tried acupuncture on my left-hand from april 05(when first diagnosed) through till
dec 06.After 60+ treatments my Acupuncturists agreed the therapy was not defeating the Dups so I took a trip to Essen and met Prof Seegenschmiedt who diagnosed Lederhosen in both feet as well as Dups in the right hand.He recommended early tratment on the left hand which I have now had-that is the first 5 days.My experience is that diet (avoidance of dairy and alcohol-plenty of tomatoes-lycopene) and alternative therapy has not proved sufficient to stop the dupd in its tracks.I`m currently joining those usind acetyl l carnetine-----
Keep up the good work.

Re: alternativ therapy

Phil here again -just to say the Treatment I received in Essen was, of course,Radiotherapy. After a big investment in acupuncture myself and my acupuncturists were disappointed it didn`t do the job-but thanks to the forums I was able to find a non-invasive option for early stage Dups!

Re: alternative therapy

Phil,

I am in a similar situation - both feet and right hand since 2004. It's been described as "bad disease" by one of our favorite doctors on this forum. It seems to be moving quickly so I'm now scheduled in Essen in March for evaluation and probably treatment. I'm trying NAC 1200Mg per day now for about 30 days and will continue. WAY WAY too early to say, but I'm optimistic based on walking pain and recent general feel and appearance. Please keep up the post on the results of radiotherapy. I'm interested ... did you have radiotherapy for only your hand in Essen for all four paws.

Sorry for the bad username but Wanker was already taken.

Re: alternative therapy

Hi-
just been searching the net for NAC-gonna start that this week-this disease is particularly inconvenient
for a rock musician! It threatens Sex Drugs(*alcohol) and Rock and Roll(playing!!!)Well-tried everything
I could find re diet and alternative therapy since april 05-but Radiotherapy seems the only way to go for me.
Prof Seegenschmiedt-dignosed dups in both hands and lederhosen in both feet and a small peyronies!!!
But-he only recommended treatment on my left hand-little finger beginning to curl back and lumps and
cords growing. The treatment was painless-but does mean 2 full weeks in Germany-luckily i rembered some of
my German and so go by on that.Although in the hospital-most staff speak English.I`ll let you know how it goes
with Radiotherapy and the NAC.
Phil
