Re: Anyone know of RT for DD close to Seattle or Tacoma

I am in Portland, OR and am just now finishing my first round of RT with Dr. Cha at Providence Hospital. A little closer than Boise.

Radiation therapy available at The University of Washington Hospital

I've just finished with my last of 10 sessions of radiation therapy with Dr. Parvatheneni at the UW. Dr. P. is an attending professor of oncology radiation there. I was diagnosed in February with N stage Dupuytren's and after doing my research knew that I wanted to get radiation. As far as we knew there was no one in Seattle who did this so we approached the University and Dr P., presented him with the studies, and he was willing to meet with me. He is a wonderful man and I have no qualms in recommending him. I received the standard 30 gray units over 10 sessions; 5 sessions with a 6 to 8 week break (in my case 7 weeks) and then a final 5 sessions. My insurance is covering this, though by no means paying for it all, so there is no way it was worth traveling to Europe. I encourage anyone in the Seattle area who want to try the radiation route give his office a call. He jokingly said I could tell all my Scandinavian friends about my experience, so he's up for it.

Re: Anyone know of RT for DD close to Seattle or Tacoma

Hi.

I am having my second round of radiation at Virginia Mason in Seattle. My radiologist is Dr. Song. I was referred to him by Dr. Kline. I saw Dr. Kline in Portland, Oregon (he comes to the Portland office about once every 3 months). My insurance is covering about 90% of the treatment. So far, I have been very pleased with the result. Hope this information helps.
