Diagnosed with shingles - prescribed Valacyclovir 1GM tablets - it's helping my dupuytrens!
Hello All,
I have had dupuytrens for about a year and been using magnesium oil on both palms once a day for the last 3 months. This has helped greatly! Recently, I was diagnosed with shingles and was prescribed Valacyclovir 1GM tablets and MethyIPREDNISolone tablets. I think these have also reduced the cords!
I only got one weeks worth of tablets, so I'll see what happens to the dupuytrens after that.
Just wanted to pass this on.

Since dupuytren's is an inflammatory disease it would be more likely that the methylprednisolone was the medication that helped since it is a steroid (powerful antiinflammatory). However, since such little is known about DD, it very well could have been the valacyclovir.
