Glucosamine - Stay Away!
I don't think I have seen information on Glucosamine and Dupuytren's on the internet.
My husband will have NA the end of June. While making the appt., the Drs office said to stay away from Gulcosamine as it has been found to be an accelerator to Dupuytren's. It makes since, since it is suppose to rebuild cartilage, but I hadn't thought about it with Dupuytren's.
Has anyone else researched this?

Re: Glucosamine - Stay Away!
Hi Sandie, thank you for bringing this up! You might also have a look at our web site http://www.dupuytren-online.info/morbus_dupuytren.html. If you scroll down that page you will find a warning regarding glucosamine (and some other medications).
To my knowledge the negative effect of glucosamine on Dupuytren has not yet been proven but it has been observed by some patients while others did not experience an acceleration of Dupuytren. At least it is worth observing. Part of Dupuytren's disease is an excessive build-up of collagen (sort of exaggerated wound healing) and glucosamine is meant to "improve" the rate of collagen build-up. That might be good for relieving joint pain but it might be bad for Dupuytren.
If you want to see more comments you can also search this forum for posts on glucosamine. Just click on Search in the above menu, type glucosamine and search in "topics and answers". That will yield about 150 posts.
