Often times the possible "INITIAL DIAGNOSTIC SHOCK" and first recognition and evidence of the typical signs of DUPUYTREN and / or LEDDERHOSE DISEASE, can lead to a severe personal crisis followed by a crude cruise through the internet with first sight of shocking images and therefor feared perspectives about the own personal future. However, all these subjectively well understandible reactions will not help without changing to a more REALISTIC APPROACH TO EXACTLY PLAN to STUDY your own hands (hand palm and backside) and both feet (foot sole and backside) in an objective manner

> Prediposing disorders (Diabetes mellitus ?; Thyroid Disease ? Liver Disease ? Alcohol or Nicotine Consumption ?

> Predisposing Professional or leisure Activities (Heavy mechanical stress to the hand and fingers or foot balm) ?

> Previous Trauma to your affected extremity ?

(2) EXAMINATION OF BOTH HANDS AND BOTH FEET

> START with a photo(copy) of your affected hand palms and foot soles

> Visual Examination (Hand Lines, Angles between fingers, finger movements [Flexion & Extension]

> Palpatory mechanical Examination (Appearance of Nodules, Cords, "Symptomatic Areas")

> Functional Examination (Various Function Tests possible)
