Once I see this doctor and get a feel for her experience and expertise, I will ask if I can post her name and info here on the site. Can she be added to the list that is on here? Of course, I want to find out how many procedures she has done and such. But it's so hard to find doctors who do NA that if we can keep adding to the is list, it would be very helpful.

Back from Clarksville.Ill have to wait till next Tues now.Doc had an last minute surgery that couldnt be put off.At least they reimbursed me for gas money.This waiting kinda sucks.Rather get it over with.Dave

I saw Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick on Tuesday. I was extremely impressed with her. She was incredibly thorough and spent a very long time talking to me and letting me ask questions. Dr. K was trained by Dr. Eaton in 2004 (if I'm remembering that correctly). She still remains in contact with him.

Because I have lupus and diabetes, that complicates my hand situation even more. She wasn't sure why I had so much pain in my right hand. So they xrayed my hand to make sure I didn't have arthritis or something else going on. Everything there looked fine.

I have nodules on all fingers on my right hand. I have numerous nodules and cords in that hand, including nodules between the index and thumb. My middle finger has been pulled sideways toward the ring finger. The pinky has the worst contraction. The ring finger had been the worst but it was released by Xiaflex.

Dr. K said I was a great candidate for NA. She also says that since I'm young, that you have to carefully plan treatment because I have a lot of years to go and you can only do so many treatments over the years. She is conservative and I do appreciate that.

Since my husband is unemployed right now, I need to wait a bit before doing the NA. I've got a followup appointment in 3 months. In the meantime, I'll get more information on my exact cost and plan for that. She also suggested that I get hand extension splints to wear at night. She really feels it can make a difference in how my hands feel and function during the day. Dr. K also suggested using weight lifting gloves when I'm working in the yard or doing housework. She said the ones with padding in the palms will help with the tenderness.

I'm just so excited to find someone in the Atlanta area who is doing NA and even better, was trained by Dr. Eaton.
