Diagnosed 10 years ago in Arkansas by a hand surgeon who told me it was caused by drinking alcohol, and surgery was my only option. Good grief! Happily I found better advice on forums like this, and was arranging for an expensive trip to Germany to try radiation therapy. But first I contacted radiology centers around Arkansas.

One center in Little Rock had never used RT on Dupuytren but they were intrigued, and willing to give it a try! After a series of radiation treatments (even covered under my insurance) the very painful bumps on my right hand stopped enlarging, and by five years later they had greatly diminished. (I did stop eating gluten about 2 years in since I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, but have no idea if that helped. I sure wish more could be done re: Dupuytren/autoimmune diseases.)

Another five years in, and so far still diminished with no further enlargement. So if you are newly diagnosed, and want to try RT, it might be worth your time to download some of the articles on RT, and call or bring them by radiation therapy clinics.
