New Zealand- and recommendations for Xiaflex in Australia/USA/anywhere ?

Afternoon all, I am based in Christchurch New Zealand, and have got relatively large nodules in both hands, they have over the past year drown and are getting mildly painful. I am 53 and a hand specialist said she would recommend Xiaflex. Unfortunately it is unavailable in NZ now- apparently size of the market means J and J has pulled out of supplying to NZ. My specialist due to my age doesn’t want to operate as yet, so i am keen to assess if i can travel overseas to get the injection. (I am hoping to be in the USA Feb next year skiing for a few weeks in Utah?…but happy to travel anywhere if anyone has ideas of a practice/specialist that i could talk to overseas.) The posts i have been reading indicate its better to not leave it to long….As an aside if anyone anywhere has a good contact- i am happy to look at random options like do a house swap for a house in Christchurch or Wanaka NZ -)…

Re: New Zealand- and recommendations for Xiaflex in Australia/USA/anywhere ?

I believe Xiaflex is currenly only vailable in the USA. The pharma company Endo has withdrawn Xiaflex from all other markets because they can get higher revenues in the USA and can also use it for treating other, more profitable conditions.

In the USA you shoud carefully select your doctor because pricing can vary very much, some doctors are charging enourmous amounts. I am not sure whether it is worth it for injection into a nodule. Maybe cortinzone injection would be an alternative? https://www.dupuytren-online.info/dupuytren_steroids.html

Hi Urks, The other option to consider for early ongoing progression is radiation treatment, either in NZ or overseas. https://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiotherapy_clinics.html
ProfS offers zoom consultations that may help with your choice. https://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_...53463816.html#4
Best wishes SB
