Re: Newly diagnosed

Hi Crutter

You don’t say anything about what stage your at? Most people never get a contracture and no treatment is needed.

Some people in the early stages before contracture like to be pro-active and investigate RT. RT is available on the NHS, there is conditional NICE guidance for it, but possibly not available in your area. Even so under the NHS patient choices charter you can choose the area for first specialist consultation. You may have to pressure your GP and assert your rights.

If you have moderate contracture there is NICE guidance for NA and condititional guidance for Xiapex. Same as above you can choose where to go, who to see.

We have some treatment centres on our website under the different treatment options, and there is a partial list of consultants, clinics, hospitals on the BDS website http://dupuytrens-society.org.uk/treatme...-organisations/. The BDS also has a Facebook group where you might get specific recommendations from other Yorkshire patients.

Let us know what you do.
Best wishes SB
