      Hammer,

Don't remember seeing if you are wearing a night splint or not. I found it very beneficial in comparison to the first NA when I didn't wear one.

            Seph:
Paul; Wolfgang is correct the email address I have for Dr Badois is dr.f.badois@orange.fr

His english is very good so no difficulty in communicating.

If you want to check out Dr Manet the email address I have is mariepascalemanetchopin@sfr.fr

Dr Manet's english is not so good but the message is clear. His email to me is below:

"Mr LERMUSIAUX send me your mail. It's possible to treat your hands by aponeurotomy with the needdle. The recurrence is very frequent in this desease. And it's better to treat by aponeurotomy regularly. I send an explication of the procedure. If you want an appointment say me by mail. Best regards Dr MP MANET"

I had emailed Dr Lermusiaux as he is credited with discovering NA as a treatment. Apparently Dr Lermusiaux is now retired.

Thanks guys, i have been in contact with dr manet, was amazed by the speedy reply. Also amazed that they said that they could treat my stage 3 finger. I am 38 from australia and here i am frustrated that the doctors just want to open me up, so hence the reason i will go to france and get something done. Yes i know there is a good chance it will return, especially as i was 25 when i first notice dc and my father has it in both hands, but i would rather this than being cut open every few years. I just wish the doctors in australia would accept this treatment.

                Re: Personal experience

Paul; Australian surgeons argue that with NA the Dupuytrens return after a time but they ignore the fact that DD also returns with conventional surgery. I have an acquaintance who has been operated on 4 times. They operated on my left hand when I was in my late 30's and the DD returned about 5 years later.

The French doctors that practice NA also agree that the DD comes back but they don't see this as a problem. You can see from Dr Manet's comments that he says NA should be done regularly.

NA is such a simple painless procedure that I can't see why I can't get it done whenever the DD returns. The reluctance of Australian doctors and distance to France is a frustration.

For now I am forced to holiday in Paris every 18mths or so.

                  Seph,

Although the French are probably the most experienced with NA .....there are options for this treatment in Aus and NZ......

Just checkout the drop down menu for treatment and select NA for other countries....

                  All the best

                    Re: Personal experience

Thanks Gary; I hjave already tried communicating with Dr Dilley in Sydney and Dr Hunter-Smith in Melbourne.

Dr Dilley responded that my photographs were not clear enough to make a determination which did not fill me with confidence as my condition is obvious. Dr Hunter-Smith was a bit better but his response immediately starts talking about circumstances where NA is not appropriate. I will probably have a consult with Dr Hunter-Smith but my inclination is to go where the experience is for now and let the local guys experiment on others.
