Question regarding DD LD and PD

Hi, my name is Robert Jameson. I am 27 years old and have had Ledderhose disease in both feet for about 4 years now. My mom and grandmother have both had it in their feet and not in their hands and it has not brought me pain. I had surgery for it once but it came back worse. My question is, how common is it for someone with Ledderhose disease to get Dupuytrens or Peyronies as well? I am not worried about Ledderhose but I am about getting Dupuytrens and specifically Peyronies.

Thank You,

Robert

Re: Question regarding DD LD and PD

Hi Robert

There is a link between these conditions, frozen shoulder too. I don't know the statistical chances of you getting one thing if you have another. There are good treatments for managing DD, improving understanding of treating LD, new treatments for Peyronie's and a trial underway for collagenase and Frozen shoulder. They are all benign conditions, although possibly life modifying, but most people get on just fine and most people do not suffer the worse effects of the condition. I play sport and piano despite DD. Do the reading on all aspects, find some knowledgeable doctors in case you need them, remove the known risk factors if you can and enjoy yourself in the meantime.

Best wishes
