Re: Questions put to Prof Seegenschmiedt about dosage intervals, NICE guidelines, cords and nodules

Hello,

On this website in the 'Treatment' section, 'Radiothearpy', under 'Overview', it says that the gap between radiotherapy sessions is 6 weeks. It also implies that 20Gy is nearly as effective as 30Gy. Is this really what this Dupytrens Society is recommending?

Hi Lanod,

the Dupuytren Society is not recommending a specific RT protocol. There is no general agreement in the scientific community which is the best way of radiotherapy for Dupuytren's, neither about the total dose, nor about the dose fractioning, nor about whether a gap and at what size is beneficial. We are only describing, using our best knowledge, options and results of research. The decision which way to go is still with patient and treating doctor.
