Recommendations for Dr. Gary Press?
I recently tried to get an appointment with Dr. Eaton in Florida but was told he is booked till the end of the year. He recommended that I see Dr. Gary Press in New Jersey (who is much closer...I'm in Philadelphia). I am looking into NA for slight contracture in two fingers and cortisone shots for painful dorsal knuckle pads I have on three fingers. Can anyone recommend Dr. Press or should I wait and go to Florida in January/February? Thanks.

I am sure Dr. Pess would be fine if Dr. Eaton suggested him...
Dr. Eaton has provided excellent care to my Dups.....and if it were I making the desicion, I would wait and go to Doctor Eaton.
Perhaps you could be put on a cancellation list..

Just by reading Pess' qualifications on his website, he looks to be imminently qualified. Even learned the NA procedure from Dr. Lermusiaux in Paris. This is from the link on this website above. http://www.centraljerseyhand.com/dupuytr...ure-surgery.htm

As I recall, Dr. Gary Press was one of the first surgeons to follow Dr. Eaton's lead and offer NA. Don't forget, for a CHS NA is a walk in the park. Eaton performed his first NA after watching a video of the procedure from France with no training at all. While it's still true that some docs might do a slightly better job of straightening than others, danger is not really a factor. If you need NA, the sooner the better.
