RT COSTS

I'M VERY CURIOUS HOW MUCH EVERYONE HAS HAD TO PAY FOR THEIR RT TREATMENTS AND DID ANYONE HAVE THIS DONE AND IT DIDN'T HELP?

Re: RT COSTS

I received treatment in Erlangen Germany, the cost was 500 Euro and the RT stopped / slowed the progression in my hands and feet.

Re: RT COSTS

Medicare as primary and my Anthem Blue Cross plan paid as the supplemental insurance. I posted the details of the charges last fall. You can search costs of RT and probably find mine and others to compare.

Re: RT COSTS

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and it was covered. I had to have an MRI which was the bulk of my cost, since it went towards my deductible. If I remember correctly MRI ran around $1200.00 and the RT was under $250.00, since it was performed at a local radiation center as opposed to a hospital. I posted the exact cost in the fall and you can search back through the postings.

Re: RT COSTS

I didn't pay 1 penny. After duking it out with my medical group, they finally approved radiation and for some reason Health Net insurance didn't charge me even a copay. (Which in my opinion is kind of a poor business model as I would have been more than happy to pay something).

Re: RT COSTS

I only paid my co-pays for initial consult and 6 month follow-up appts with the Doctor. My insurance covered 100% of the radiation treatment.

In the U.S., I think it really depends upon your insurance company. You can take the approach that I did, have the inital consult appointment with the Doctor, then have them get pre-approval (which they should do anyway) before any treatment takes place. That way, you would know if your insurance covers it or not, and how much you would be responsible for.
