Re: Tissue Plasminogen Activator....Dr. Chin Brisbane..

Hi Gazza, Mandy, I am now booked in for 20th March for injection in my Right foot and hands. Hopefully it will be as successful as my left foot. First time for hands. I'll keep everyone posted. Mandy, it does take a bit of time to show results so don't get depressed if at first you feel nothing is happening. I think for my first round on my left foot it took a good 3 months for the nodule to shrink then slowly disappear. Good luck to both of you.

Hi guys,
I am all booked for April 26 th. it will be for nodules in both hands and my left foot. These three appendages have progressed over the last year but my right foot is stable so I will be leaving alone. Look forward to catching up soon with updates......and hopefully will have time to see Terry for a pie and a pint....
All the best to you all

Hi Terry,
I hope your appointment went well yesterday.
Hi to you as well Gaz.
It's now 3 weeks since my injections. My hand was a little bruised for longer than expected, but not too bad. It did make massaging the nodules a little uncomfortable.
So far, I'm happy that I've had this done. My hands no longer throb and are not nearly as painful. My Physio is quite delighted.
he says the nodules feel a little softer and "less stuck". The cords also more flexible.
Thanks for the info about your foot taking about 3.months, gives me something to look forward too.
While I hope that there is further improvement, I could manage my life quite well how my hands are at the moment.
If anyone feels negative toward this so called "unproven treatment", then don't reply to this post please. Happiest I've been about this disease since it first raised it's ugly bumps.
Good luck with April Gazza.
Look forward to hearing how you guys get on.

Cheers (enjoy the Pies and beers!)
Mandy

Re: Tissue Plasminogen Activator....Dr. Chin Brisbane..

Hi Mandy, great to get your news. Yep the hands are a bit bruised as is the foot, but the good news is the ring finger on the right hand is somewhat straighter already and hopefully it will get even straighter and the nodules are softening. Dr Chin was unsure if the ring finger would be successful given the bend, but lets wait and see he does think I might have to have it stripped similar to the left hand op, but the injection will make it easier to strip if not successful with just the injection. The 40mm nodule on the foot is down to say 6mm already and hopefully like I said over the next 3 or so months will slowly disappear. So... so far all is good!! I kind of don't get the negativity surrounding this, maybe others have tried and it hasn't worked, but for me it certainly has been great and I am happy to let everyone know about it. I do know Dr Chin has not been forthcoming in his sharing of what he is doing, but that is his privilege. Gazza hopefully we will catch up and compare notes! Cheers, Terry

Re: Tissue Plasminogen Activator....Dr. Chin Brisbane..

Oh well....just had my hands and left foot injected......this is the first time for my hands and the second for the foot......

As with my first treatment 3 years ago the pain and local swelling subsided after 24 hours. .....already I can see considerable improvements in all treated areas and particularly my foot...
..so much less tension.......this is also the case with my hands.......I took a measure of my hands outline before the treatment and my span is clearly significantly larger.....all the nodules are already softer and shrinking accept one on my right hand that seems unchanged....
So let's hope the progress continues...

All the best to you

Gazza
