Re: Tissue Plasminogen Activator....Dr. Chin Brisbane..

Hi Gaz, Great to hear you have improvement already. Hope you and Terry were able to catch up for a beer.
Please keep us updated with your progress.
It's just over 5 weeks since my treatment. My right hand, which was least affected, is great. Although I can feel the nodules, I can only visually see one. The cord in my left hand is still a little bit tight, but the nodules are softer and smaller. The best part is the pain has gone. Still doing stretches, and the physio is checking them when I go for frozen shoulder treatment.
All the best,
Look forward to hearing updates.
Cheers
Mandy

Hi Everyone,
Six months since my treatment with Dr Chin. So thought I should update.
Unfortunately I have a few new nodules. But although cord on my left hand is tight, I still have no contraction. Pain has increased a little but not as bad as it was initially. Not sure if I should go back to Dr Chin or adopt the "wait and see" or if I should take Wolfgangs recommendation to see Dr Borg re radiotherapy.
Gazza and Terry how are you both now? You were both happy soon after your treatment, are you still happy? How are your hands/feet?
Regards
Mandy

Hi Mandy......it seems that you ve had mixed results over the medium term..it’s very difficult with this condition to know what to do.....it’s so different for all of us and let’s be honest so little is really understood by the medics.

... it’s been a while.....and the news this end is not so good......after initial improvements after my last round of injections things went south and still haven’t settled......it must be said that I had been experiencing a particularly aggressive flare up for best part of a year before seeking more treatment......my left hand has an improved span post injection but has developed a 2x1 nodule and a thickening cord near the injection site.....my left foot has developed two new nodules near the injection site....and my right hand which initially had great success with the nodule completely disappearing, has since had a new nodule develop. That nodule grew to 3x2 in 3 months. All things considered I decided to have RT on that hand. Fortunately, availability of RT has moved considerably since I had my feet Zapped 6 years ago in Germany. This time I was able to get treatment an hour away from home. Just completed the first series and those burning itching sensations have subsided in the treated hand. Sadly, all hell seems to be breaking out elsewhere....

I can’t say that the Dr. Chin treatment failed.. because progression was already on the March at the time of treatment. Did the treatment add fuel to the progression.??.....who knows.....

Wishing you all the best over there.

Gazza
