Fatigue after RT?

I read that generally speaking RT can cause fatigue because it affects blood cells in the body. Has anyone else experienced fatigue after RT?

I had RT for left hand and left foot...5 treatments per week/2 weeks in a row at Scripps, La Jolla, CA. I had NO problem with fatigue, NO problems with dryness of the skin...no side effects whatsoever.

The radiated areas have been in remission since Nov. 2009.

No fatigue for lower dose and small volumes like hands or feet ..

Occurs only with larger volumes and doses being applied for longer time

Fatigue is originally associated with chemotherapy side-effects ! Larry

No fatigue at all after RT. It really is a very minimal dose and on a small area of the body as well as not going deep - not down to the bone.

Re: Fatigue after RT?

With a change in your discomfort in your foot after treatment you have probably changed you gait pattern. That has probabply led to some muscle use differences. Long slow steretches like in a hot shower might help. If you don't see a difference go to your primary care physician and explain thay your altered gait patern has caused muscle pain and ask for help. A physical thearapist perhaps. Or maybe a muscle relaxant. Or muscle strenthing. Only a good evaluation can tell you. Our bodies take time to adust to changes. Hang in there
