Just returned from The Podiatrist

Went for my monthly check in and how discouraging is this statement... I think you need a second opinion maybe another doctor knows of a newer miracle treatment than I do I have tried everything. See you in 2 months. Oh and he let me know that the painful bump in my palm is Dupuytrens and that I needed a Hand doctor for that. But he wouldnt give me a referral to anyone. I still have swelling and pain from surgery from the new fibroma growing back and painful fibromas in right foot and now a painful little bump in palm. I feel like the doctor gave up. I understand this disease is frustrating but if nothing else just make the people with this at the very least comfortable. Thanks for letting me share, vent, rant and complain !!!

Peekaboo,

Please feel free to vent! I certainly understand your frustration, as I'm sure the others do. I don't know where you live, but suggest you check out the nearest large hospital for referrals, unless you are close to any of the places already listed on the site who treat these diseases. I hope you are able to find a more compassionate doctor quickly and will be watching for your posts to see how you are doing. I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. While it may not be a cure; it helps keep your body from getting run down from stress, which takes a real toll. That being said, I'll admit it's much easier to say to someone than to do ;) Hang in there!
Brgds, TG
