Ledderhose effect on posture?

I have a nodule in the arch of foot and I think it may have had an effect on the way I walk and stand. Does anybody else have experience of this. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Re: Ledderhose effect on posture?

LD has not affected my posture...however...my rt. foot, with a small nodule, causes some lower calf, and lower back pain..stretching exercises help. Left ft., with a large nodule...no pain!

Re: Ledderhose effect on posture?

Radiation therapy is very effective for nodules on Ledderhose and also for early stages of Dupuytrens (no contracture). Read all you can about Radiation on this Forum (under Treatments above) and take it in consideration before any progression of the disease begins.

I had RT in November 2009 for two hard large nodules on left foot and also for multiple nodules on left hand. The radiation stopped the progression of the disease in the radiated areas.

Re: Ledderhose effect on posture?

Hi Postit
Changes in posture are such a personal thing - I would think it depends at least partly on your pre-existing postural dynamics. I would suggest you try not to walk any differently and if you find you have to because of pain, or tightness in the plantar tendon, go and see a physiotherapist, sports physician or someone similar in your country as podiatrists will just try to put you in an orthodic and this can cause more problems especially if the nodule is still growing.
Hope something of this is of use to you
Di

Re: Ledderhose effect on posture?

I didn't think I was walking or standing differently, but co-workers tell me I am. Sometimes it is just too uncomfortable to stand on my lumpy foot with full weight.

Re: Ledderhose effect on posture?

My posture was clearly disturbed by tingling sensations and sometimes pain which made my standing increasingly unpleasant with increasing time ....

Now these symptoms have completely faded away after radiotherapy of both feet ...
