Re: Progression after radiation -- need advice

I have had 3 rounds of radiation on my left foot. A year later the pain has worsened and now have new nodules in my left foot. I'm considering the H.injections but am concerned if it is just s short term solution as well

I am so sorry to hear this. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

A year after the first round of RT, I continue to feel some discomfort in my irradiated foot. However, I would say the post-RT pain has eased and the nodule has not grown, as I initially believed. My earlier comments about progression are likely wrong -- the swelling and bumps (and slight throbbing) I felt could simply be inflammation and scar tissue from the RT, according to one radiation oncologist I saw. He told me my foot could settle down in time. And indeed there was a short period a month ago, while relaxing on vacation, that I did not feel any discomfort. So I remain hopeful.

I do notice my foot is worse after playing sports, and also after drinking wine. ... Moe
