Radiation in US
Does anyone know of MDs in the US who use radiation to treat Ledderhose? The results seem much better than any other treatment, especially in early stages.

Re: Radiation in US
I just finished my first round of treatments with Dr. Tripuraneni at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA last week. I first saw him in the middle of January for the Dupuytren and Ledderhose in my left hand and left foot. He also determined that both my right hand and right foot are affected.
Dr. Tripuraneni seems to be very knowlegable about Dupuytren and Ledderhose, and the staff that I dealt with was all very friendly and helpful.
You can find his information under the Radiation therapy, Clinics section of this site.

Re: Radiation in US
When I was finishing up my RT for my hand, I asked if Southeast Radiation in Charlotte, NC would treat you and they said they would talk to you about doing RT on your feet. It is not NY, but....maybe in the winter in the middle of a blizzard the south might look good to visit. Their contact information is under the RT clinics section.
Good luck,
Lori

Re: Radiation in US
Thanks very much, Lori, that was very nice of you. I wish this had happened last spring. I teach, so I have plenty of time in the summer usually to travel. But of course I just developed the lumps a month ago and now my classes are about to start.
There are so many medical centers in New York. I wonder why doctors in the US are so slow to adopt the radiation therapy. I called Memorial Sloan Kettering and they are going to schedule a consultation with me. I also called the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL because my paernts live near there and I could stay with them. The Mayo Clinic said they would do radiation therapy (although I don't know how much experience they have with LD).
I also had some very nice communications with doctors in California who sound terrific. Dr. Tripuraneni (in La Jolla) has an outstanding reputation. He has been listed in the Castle Connolly "Best Doctors in America" for over 5 years straight. I also got some helpful emails from Dr. Pauling Chang in Palo Alto, who sounds like a very smart and compassionate doctor. I would love to go to California or NC if only I could!
